Pulse
Self-hosted QA metrics for engineering squads. FTPR, cycle time, throughput, and bug trends from Jira or ClickUp.
Pulse is a Docker application that runs inside your network. It connects to Jira Cloud or ClickUp, reads work items for each configured squad, and computes quality metrics. Config-driven, honest about gaps, and built for team health and to spot patterns that could potentially be improved.
One URL for the whole org. Your data stays on your infrastructure. No hosted database, no ongoing SaaS bill, and no tokens passing through a server I operate.
Checkout is handled by Gumroad. After payment you receive the install pack by email.
What it measures
| Metric | Description |
|---|---|
| First Time Pass Rate (FTPR) | Tracks how often work passes QA without requiring rework, using workflow history and failure signals. |
| Cycle Time | Measures how long work takes from entering development until completion. |
| Lead Time | Shows the complete delivery journey from creation to done. |
| Throughput | Tracks completed work over time to understand delivery capacity. |
| Bug Trends | Monitors bugs opened, closed, backlog, density, and resolution patterns. |
| Average Time in QA | Shows where work spends time waiting or moving through testing stages. |
| Flow Efficiency | Highlights active work versus waiting time to identify bottlenecks. |
| Quality Health Score | Combines delivery and quality signals into one configurable score. |
Full definitions and grouping rules are in the metrics catalog. You map workflow status names, bug rules, and squad routing in config.yml.
What you see in the app
Three main pages per squad:
Overview
Your main quality view with FTPR, cycle time, lead time, throughput, and bug trends.
Quality Insights
Higher-level indicators showing quality trends, flow efficiency, and delivery health.
Lead Time & Bugs
Detailed views into delivery speed, bug movement, and workflow bottlenecks.
Date presets, period comparison, drill-down ticket lists, CSV/JSON export, and config audit are built in. See using the dashboard.
